This month’s edition of the eyko newsletter features insights from our Head of Marketing, Gene Villeneuve, as he reflects on his first-time experience at the annual Quest INFOCUS Oracle JD Edwards conference.
From October 1-3, I had the pleasure of attending my first JD Edwards (JDE) conference, held in Denver, Colorado—an annual gathering of the JDE community. As both an attendee and exhibitor, I was excited to see higher-than-expected participation, with a renewed sense of energy within the JDE ecosystem. Attendees ranged from I.T. professionals to business leaders responsible for optimizing revenue, tracking warehouses, monitoring expenses, and other critical functions. Their stories were inspiring but also highlighted some of the current challenges, such as managing an ever-expanding set of data sources, dealing with outdated tools, and navigating complex reporting requirements.
Vendors were also out in full force—exceeding forecasts—with exhibitors representing professional services, business process automation, analytics, AI, app orchestration, and much more.
Most of my time at INFOCUS was spent at the eyko booth, where I had meaningful conversations with many JDE customers. Here are a few key takeaways from those discussions:
From an eyko perspective, we were thrilled by the reception. Our inbuilt smarts for the JDE schemas married with our ability to seamlessly combine and clean data from JDE and other sources generated a lot of excitement at the booth. Many customers told their colleagues and friends to stop by and see our demo firsthand. In addition to data integration, eyko’s ability to quickly generate reports, dashboards, and AI-driven insights (while respecting and inheriting JDE security) made a big impact. We left the conference with numerous demo requests, POCs, and new partner opportunities.
In closing, it was heartwarming to witness the strong bonds within the JDE community. Long-time friends reconnected with warm embraces and huge smiles, while I, as a newcomer, was warmly welcomed into the fold. It’s clear this is more than just a professional network—it's a true community.
